Prepare a VP3350 reader
Choose the connector, pair the reader and handle sleep before the first SDK transaction.
Check the connector and contents
The reader is offered with Lightning, USB-C male or Bluetooth connectivity; the package includes its cable and a mounting bracket for applicable connector models. Select the variant for the actual host. The USB-C female port is not an iOS data connection.
Pair and power the reader
Charge for four to six hours before initial use. USB power activates Bluetooth; otherwise press the power button. Select IDTECH-VP3350-XXXXX in host discovery and use the documented initial pairing code 123456. A beep and four flashing lights indicate connection. Use the model’s indicator chart for other LED states.
Handle cable access
Host Requirement Android USB Grant USB Manager access when attaching the compatible USB-C reader. iOS Declare UISupportedExternalAccessoryProtocols and use Bluetooth, Lightning male or USB-C male. Changing iOS connection Unplug a Lightning reader before connecting a Bluetooth reader.
Treat sleep as a readiness change
With USB power the reader maintains Bluetooth connectivity; on battery it sleeps after about 30 idle seconds. Wake and reconnect before another transaction. Discover through getAvailablePinPads, then set both reader name and connection type and wait for configuration completion. Do not equate OS pairing with SDK payment readiness.
Complete account and payment setup
Enable Encrypted Devices, use an API-source key and the correct SDK environment, and handle the transaction and confirmation lifecycle. Physical connector readiness does not enable merchant processing or establish an approved payment.
