Use the correct test environment
This guide applies to Gateway.js ThreeDSecure#createUI with the account in test mode. It is separate from the sandbox test-card guide. Never toggle a merchant serving real customers into test mode as part of ordinary checkout.

Keep authentication separate
complete does not mean a payment was charged. Forward the authentication result through the supported backend contract; retain failures and technical errors separately. Source code snippets have punctuation defects, so this matrix extracts behavior rather than copying them as runnable JavaScript.
