Prepare a Lane terminal

Power and network the terminal, enable encrypted devices and register its rotating code.

Connect the supplied hardware

Check the terminal, Multipoint Interface Cable and supplied power adapter. Connect the cable to the terminal underside, Ethernet to an internet-connected network, and the specified adapter to power. Place the terminal within customer reach and away from heat and strong electromagnetic sources.

Look for the registration code

After startup an unregistered network-connected unit displays its rotating registration code. If the code does not appear, investigate connectivity before repeatedly calling registration. Inspect hardware for tampering on arrival and regularly thereafter; do not substitute an unsuitable power supply.

Enable the merchant service

Enable Encrypted Devices first in the Partner Marketplace, then for the merchant in Marketplace Apps. Register manually in the merchant device/license UI or through the Cloud device API. Persist the returned device identity for routing instead of relying on the display nickname.

Continue through the Cloud API

Use backend credentials for registration and processing. The async reference reports progress and final outcome; an HTTP success or terminal nickname is not proof of payment. Lane’s Cloud flow is separate from host SDK lifecycle methods.
