Connect and configure the mobile Payment Device SDK
Initialize, discover, configure and observe a physical reader before enabling payment actions.
Initialize once and configure properties
SDK requests and responses use Parameters on Android and CCParameters on iOS. Initialize the SDK, provide the API-source credential and registered ApplicationIdentifier, and choose a reader. Preserve the SDK storage configuration between launches. Dispose closes resources and disconnects readers; initialize again before further use.
Discover before selecting
getAvailablePinPads is asynchronous; use onAvailablePinPads to populate reader choices. Configure the selected name and connection type before connectAndConfigure. Its immediate response is separate from the asynchronous configuration completion. Handle permission denial and reader disappearance as recoverable setup states.
Use the event lifecycle
Event Meaning configurationUpdate Connection/configuration work is in progress. connectAndConfigureFinished Read readiness or the reported configuration errors. deviceUpdate Reader connected, disconnected, rebooted or initialized. tmsUpdate Result of a requested TMS update. firmwareUpdate Supported devices report required firmware/update progress.
Read status and maintain configuration
getStatus synchronously returns SDK/device/platform information. getMerchantData reports merchant currencies and transaction types. getTransactionInformation retrieves a known attempt. requestTmsUpdate requires a connected reader; routine connectAndConfigure already handles required TMS work. Configuration changes and elapsed update windows can require a new update.
Keep platform dependencies distinct
Use the release bundle that matches the host OS and SDK flavour. Android needs the correct permissions and USB access when applicable; iOS accessory configuration uses its own protocol/dependency setup. Do not apply Android class names to iOS. TMS features such as offline processing and receipts are configuration-dependent; test the actual account and reader combination.
